Brier Hill Haven was founded in 2025 by Nathan and April Devlin. Their faith, family values, and commitment to legacy guided them toward building a family business. As owners of a Southern California real estate and property management brokerage, they are a natural pathway to homes, furnishings, and logistics. After serving in their church’s ministry for several years, a strong desire to do more began to stir, which grew into using their gifts and callings.

Brier Hill Haven facilitates and offers housing for the most vulnerable and those in need. Recognizing the challenges within existing programs and support along with the scarcity of available resources, we are driven to do our part, and make a meaningful difference.

We are a dedicated, committed, and passionate group who offer safe, compassionate housing solutions for the un-housed and seniors in need. Because every individual, regardless of circumstances deserves a safe haven to call home.  We empower people with faith, hope, and love so that they can thrive. 

Brier Hill Haven was named for the small Italian neighborhood where April’s grandmother, great aunt, and their family grew up. This little neighborhood in Youngstown, Ohio offered a safe haven and a community of passionate people who cared for each other. Their life experiences growing up in Brier Hill helped shape these women. Everyone was welcome in their home and around their table. This legacy flowed through the generations that followed, and the generations that continue to follow in their footsteps today.

Brier means prickly plant, often a type of shrub or bush, a dense thicket of thorny plants; like wild roses or blackberry bushes. Brier can also refer to a type of wood from the brier plant, often used in crafting because of its ability to withstand heat and retain its shape. We couldn’t think of a more perfect designation to represent our guiding stars and the hearthstone of our history.
